Reception

On arrival you’ll be greeting with a refreshing drink. Our friendly receptionists will then give you a full briefing on what to expect during your stay.  The reception desk is staffed 24 hours a day and here you can get assistance, book excursions, store excess luggage and make use of our lodge safe.

Dining

Our excellent chef and his team work passionately to create a seasonally adapted menu featuring fresh produce from the surrounding farms here  on Mt Meru. The lodge restaurant is a favourite with locals as well as guests and serves three meals daily.  Opening hours from 6 am until 11 pm. Additionally there is a poolside menu for a la carte lunches and light bites. We also offer a full bar service including fine South African wines.

Gift Shop

The hotel has two gift shops: one is a component of our commitment to the community where locally crafted beadwork from a spectrum of Maasai women throughout the area is on display and for sale.  The larger gift shop is located at the reception / lounge area and is stocked with a wide variety of Swahili curios, wood carving, fabric, beadwork, books, accessories and more at reasonable prices.

Pool

Our popular swimming pool is rated as the best in Arusha, if not the entire northern safari circuit! The centre piece of the lodge measures 22 metres long, giving ample opportunity for real exercise before and after your stint on the mountain as well a refreshing dip during hot days.

WiFi

There is complimentary wi-fi in the main areas of the lounge, reception, lounge, restaurant and swimming pool as well as our conference centre.

Conference Center

Our large conference centre, located in a secluded corner of the garden, is perfect for retreats, brainstorming sessions, trainings, lectures and meetings.  The conference facilities can be configured to suit the needs of any group and included in the package is free wi-fi, projector, tea and coffee breaks, stationery and meal inclusions as needed.  Meals can be served al fresco weather permitting and groups need not be resident to book these facilities. Two rooms are available for your organisation, one accommodates a group of twenty and the other forty-five.

Botanical Gardens

The original founder of Ilboru Safari Lodge in Arusha, retired Colonel Metili, was inspired to develop the site by his deep love for nature. He went on to create a verdant garden paradise, planting each and every indigenous tree himself. Today the gardens are mature and lovingly maintained by the lodge management and talented gardeners on staff. Home to over 122 identified species of birds, about two acres of ornamental plantings provide large spaces and hidden nooks for our guests to enjoy the tranquility that is of essence of a Swahili Sanctuary.
